Dalsfjord is a fjord and a former municipality in the Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The former municipality included the area around the Dalsfjorden between the municipality of Vanylven and the Kilsfjord. The area is now a part of the municipality of Volda. Villages in the area include Ulvestadbygda (Ulvestad, Lauvstad, and Sætre), Dravlausbygda, Åmelfot, Steinsvik, and Dalsbygda. The fjord is a branch of the main Voldsfjord.[1]
Originally a part of the municipality of Volda (see formannskapsdistrikt), Dalsfjord was established as a separate municipality on 1 July 1924. Dalsfjord had an initial population of 960. On 1 January 1964 Dalsfjord (population: 1,151) ceased to exist as a municipality when it was merged back into Volda.[2]
